Now fans can develop their own versions of the wireless controller series with colour schemes that extend beyond standard black and white models Microsoft have made available. Starting later this holiday season, the Xbox Design Lab will begin allowing for custom controllers. And although it seemed like this add could never come to light, Microsoft announced that it will finally give fans exactly what they have so badly wanted. The developer of Microsoft’s Design Lab began a few years ago, and allows customers to customize their Xbox controllers, fans have demanded that a license, now called the console, expand to fully customize their own Xbox controllers. Still, I've at least confirmed that remounting the file system as writable and modifying the disable_ertm manually lets me connect the controller.Microsoft has revealed that it will finally give fans a highly-requested feature that includes Xbox One and Xbox X controllers. It replaces the nf file on reboot with default, and the system is read-only so I can't imagine any boot script that attempts to change that will work. I also confirmed that I can play games with my XB1 through SteamLink.Īs a followup I found this post that basically solved the problem for me on the default OS: But that setting doesn't survive a reboot, which I guess is why everyone is trying to add that as part of the bootup process. That at least proves that successfully changing that setting will allow the controller to connect. I directly modified the disable_ertm config file, replacing 'N' with 'Y', tried repairing my XB1 controller, and it immediately succeeded. Right now I'm booting into the 'recommended' default OS desktop. I just got my Pi setup this morning and had this exact same issue. FWIW: I'm totally new to this and I'm not a linux power-user.
